剧情简介
The disappear ance o f Sir Julius Hanbury - and the theft of several of his erotic paintings - provide a new puzzle for M orse to solve. Assisted by DS Lewis, Morse interviews everyone at Hanbury House and it is in the course of se arching the grounds that he find s Sir Julius' body, appropriately enough, in the family mau soleum. The pathologist notes that he w as the victim of a frenzied attack b ut the lack of blood at scene leaves the pol ice to conclude that he murdered elsewhere. Sir Jul ius was a candidate to become the M aster of an Oxford college and was known to have a h ave had a bitter rivalry with anothe r candidate for the position. When Roger Meadows, a friend of t he H anbury's au pair, is ki lle d in a car accid ent, Morse concl udes that that he too was murdered. Jealousy, revenge and greed all play part in the deaths.
