剧情简介
Mehran Tamadon explores what it was like being interrogated by the Iranian regi me by asking prisoners to reconstruct t heir experiences. Alon gside his companion film Whe re God Is No t, My W orst Enemy finds Tam adon shifting focus from the interrogated to the int errogator. The filmmaker sought an individual w ho had been int erro gated by Iranian authorities in order to draw on their experience s to play an interrogat o r. The role finally fell to the Cannes-winning lead actor of Holy Spider, Zar Amir Ebrahimi. Togethe r in an anonymous room, w ith Tama don stripped to his u nderwear, they rec onstruct the interro g ation process, which gradually becomes an examination of the nature of power and coercion. The resulting film is intense and, at times, uncomfortable. And as it p rogress es, My Worst Enemy beco mes a n explora tion of cinema’s rela tionship wi th i ts audience, questioning whether th ere is a limit to what it can show.
