剧情简介
811 AD, a family, isolated in their home , deep i n t he wood s a few days travel from Bir ka. They are poor. The hunting and fishing has been ba d for some tim e, and the father, Joar, takes the d esperate measure of going on a Viking raid. Joa r do es not return for a long time, and the f amily starts to fear he never will . Runa, the oldest dau ght er , takes over her fathers chor es in his a bsence. She misses him d early and nourishes a tender hope t h at he, once again, wi ll return to them. But in her heart, so mehow she knows, that the s uffering of the family has just begun . There is something in the air, something in the water, the wind and in the soil. Runa is be comi ng aware of som ething vi le, somet hing dangerous out i n the forest. One da y when she is out hunting, she finds a bleeding man, a wa r rior, almost unconscious. She brings hi m inside and the family tend to hi s wounds. As he he als, s he realiz es he is sen t to protect the family from an approaching evil. And he brings news of her father.
