剧情简介
This is basi cally a ta le of on e woman's (Vanessa Willia ms) r ebelli on against trad ition and rac ism in the south. In a time when it is again st the law to ma rry outside your race, Henriet te (Will iams), and Gerard (Bellows), fall in love and face tri a ls of the law of th e land o f t he day. They plan on moving to France where Ge rard is from, where they can marry without any restrictions. Until Henri ette's sis ter falls sick an d they are forced to stay in the states. Henriette starts fightin g with all her might for the ri ght s of her people and her place in the church. I don't wan t to give away the end ing so I will end this here.
