剧情简介
A television adaption of Michael Frayn's ce lebrated and aw ard-winning stage play about the meeting between physicis ts Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg in 1941 Copenhagen. At this time the young Heisenberg was leadin g a faltering German reseach program into nuc lear energy, while the middle-aged and apparently isolated Bohr was in co ntac t with all ied agents, and still held a position of great influence in the n uclear ph ysi cs research community. After the me eting the two men put diff erent interpretations impr essio ns of why H eisenberg requested the me eting, and what he hope d to gain from it, a theme which mirrors the ambiguity of the "Copenhagen" int erpret ation widely used in quantum physics. Did Heisenberg go to the avuncul ar Bo hr to seeki ng h is blessing for his role in nuclear research? Why did Heisenberg con centrate on the developmen t of a nuclear reactor, and not perform the calculation s that would show that a bomb could be made to work v ia a fast-neturon r eaction in Uranium 235. T hese and o ther qu estions f eature in the plot, although unsurprisingly there few certain answ ers.
