剧情简介

(Not to overs tate it or anything) A three hander set in a post apocalyptic Oz outback (but one which is wildly more fantastical than Mad Max), Spirits of the Air tells the story of Smith, a stran g er o n the run who happens upon Felix and Betty, far into the desert. All ar ound them are amazing images of cars buried into th e groun d like totems, huge flags blo wing mad ly in the desert wind and their hou se itself is of the old oz pioneer style b ut decorated everywhere with crucifixes. Feli x is an inventor obsessed with flight and making a glider, an obsession which has already left him in a wheel chair . B etty is one of the truly great film characters, just an absolute tripper - I can 9;t describe her but the performance is a delig ht. This is not a fast f ilm, it is n ot act ion packed but is intense - the imag ery and art direction are beautiful, th e w riting is distinc t and very Australian but still universal, t he soundtrack is haunt ing (a lot of windsound montages with a simple tune used to great effect) and the performances are bo th real and surreal. Until you see this film (and for tho se who have enjoyed the incre asingl y brilliant w ork of Alex Proyas, you really should) you won't know what you are missing.
