剧情简介
A lavish w eekend part y sees Miss Marpl e accompany Lady Virginia Revel to her fam ily home of C himneys - a house which was once prized for its diplo matic gatherings until a rare diamond was stolen fro m the premises over tw enty y ears ago. The t enacious caree r politician, George Lomax, has persuaded Virginia' s fath er, Lord Caterham, to host an evening for an important Austrian Count, Lud wig V on Stainach. Virginia, the daughter o f Miss Ma rple's late cousin, must decid e by the end of the weekend whether to acce p t a marriage proposal from George Lomax or to follow her heart and the court ship of another more adventurous suitor, Anthony Cade. Dismay ed by the odd array of guests, including socialist spinste r Miss Blenkinsopp, Caterh am's formidable eldest daught er Bundle and the quietly i nscrutable maidservant T rea dwell, Lomax castigates his affable assistant Bill Eversleigh, who also has a soft spot for Virgin ia. It becomes apparent th at Count Ludwig has taken a personal interest in Chimneys.
