剧情简介
George Harvey Bone is a composer in early 20 th century London, who is under stress because he is writing a pia no concert o. Due to this stres s, he gets blac k outs when eve r he hears dissona n ces. When he finds himself after the black out in a different quarter of t he town, he re t urns home, to r ead in the paper that somebody in that quart er was murder ed. Asking help from a doctor at Scotl and Yard he is assured th at he has nothing to do with it, b u t he is advised to cu t b ack i n his work and get some relaxat ion like other, ordinary people. At a cheap musi cal he meets Net ta, a singer, who inspir es him for a n ew motive for his conce rto. But Netta discovers that this motive could also be used as a song for her. The song gets so ld , and she hangs around Geo rge to get more s ongs o ut of him. George believes that Netta is in love wit h him, and gets in an argument with his girlfriend Barbara, t he daughter of Lord Henry, w ho wants the concerto for one of h is sou ares.
