剧情简介
Mrs. Brown's Boys became a runaway success upon its initial broad cast. Ev ery episod e aired won it s t imeslot for RTÉ , with an average viewership o f 753,500 in Jan uar y, 201 1. One episode's rating beat that of RTÉ's own ratings giant The Late Late Sho w, with 856,000 view e rs tuning in to watch. However, critics disliked the sh ow. " ;The whole thi ng is entir ely predicated on viewers finding a man dres sed as a foul-mouthed elde rly woman intrinsically funny," noted Bernice Harrison in the Irish Times. "If you do, you’r e away in a hack (and the viewing figures are astronomical) , but if yo u don’t, and you think that died out wit h Les Dawson and Dick Emery, then it’s a long half-h our ." The Irish Ind ependent said that Mrs Br own's Boys was the type of TV p rogramme that "that makes you vaguely embarrassed to be Irish". The Daily Tele graph 's Sam Richards noted that show's comedy has a "rudimentary nature", consisting of " an old-fashioned blend of si lly voices and s lapstic k, played out in front of a live studio audience who collapse into giggles at the mere mention of the word “willy”.
