剧情简介
Aki and Na oko are childhood friends who are drifting apart as adults. Immersed in her fa mily life, Naoko now has a husb and and daughter; Aki, on the other hand, remains single a n d is on leave from wor k due to a personal crisis. The plot might sound familiar but it has never been told like th is. The director Kusano Natsuka stages the interac tions through an actors’ table-read and, as the lines are re p eat ed, t he scene s gradually d evelop in to o n-location conversations. Moreover, she repositions the dramatic peak of the story to the beginning: Aki has murdered Naoko’s daughter. Structurally in ventive , Kusano's daring cinema implements ‘distantiation’ eff ects to get to the heart of friendship issue s at times when life has settled. While the repetiti ons convey the suffocatio n of role patterns in both f riendship an d family, a line left out or added in unsettles and reminds us l ife can take unexpected turns .
